CFA Institute Society Memberships:
CFAI Regular Membership:
- Have 48 months of acceptable professional work experience
- Pass Level I of the CFA exam or pass the self-administered Standards of Practice Examination
- CFAI Dues: $225 per year

CFAI Retired Membership:
- Must have been a CFAI member for the at least 5 years
- Not currently engaged in professional activities which qualify as acceptable professional work experience (as described in the Work Experience Guidelines section of the CFA Institute website)
- Retired membership includes access to many of the benefits of regular membership with the option to purchase the others for a nominal fee
- CFA Institute annual dues for members on retired status: $40 per year
