CFA Society of Orange County offers three membership categories, two for investment professionals and one created for qualified individuals who are not members of CFA Institute (i.e. Business professionals, students).
Applicants with at least 48 months of qualified work experience, you may be considered for regular membership. If you have less than 48 months of qualified work experience, you may be considered for affiliate membership. Both CFA Institute and CFAOC review your work experience and sponsor statements to determine your membership eligibility.
Regular Membership Requirements:
· Hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or have equivalent education or work experience.
· Pass Level I of the CFA exam or pass the self-administered Standards of Practice Examination.
· Have 48 months of acceptable professional work experience in the investment decision-making process.
· Fulfill CFA Institute and CFA Orange County requirements, all societies require two sponsor statements as part of each application, unless you are upgrading from affiliate membership; these are submitted online by your sponsors.
· Agree to adhere to and sign the Member's Agreement, a Professional Conduct Statement, and any additional documentation requested by CFA Institute.
Affiliate Membership Requirements:
Affiliate members receive the same benefits as regular members, but do not have voting rights.
· Agree to and sign the Member's Agreement and Professional Conduct Statement.
· Two sponsor statements as part of each application; these are submitted online by your sponsors.
Associate Membership Requirements:
Associate Members are entitled to all privileges of the Society except those of voting and holding office.
· Agree to and sign the Member's Agreement and Professional Conduct Statement.
· Fulfill society requirements, CFAOC requires two sponsor statements as part of each application;
Associate membership does not require CFA Institute membership.
