The Venture Capital asset class has gone through an extreme changes the past 2 years. From the heights of 2021, to the valuation resets of 2022 and 2023, the asset class continues to be an attractive opportunity for managers and allocators who know how to deploy into the asset class. Mr. West is a member of the private equity team, focusing on venture capital and growth equity investments.
Prior to StepStone, Mr. West was a member of the research team at Greenspring Associates, a venture capital and growth equity investment firm that merged with StepStone in 2021. Prior to that, Mr. West was a technology investment associate at JMP securities focused on cybersecurity and an associate management consultant within the strategy and organization practice at Booz Allen Hamilton. Mr. West served as a human intelligence officer in the Marine Corps.
Mr. West received his MBA from Georgetown University and BS in general engineering with an Arabic minor from the United States Naval Academy.
