Hugo Spaulding is a Nairobi-based Senior Investment Associate with Women’s World Banking Asset Management (WAM), a gender lens private equity investor with an AUM of $150 million focused on inclusive financial service providers in emerging markets. In this role, Hugo conducts financial analysis on companies in the portfolio and pipeline and helps the investment team complete transactions. He began working with WAM as an investment intern in 2019 while pursuing his graduate degree before joining full-time as an investment analyst in 2020. He previously worked in Washington, D.C. for four years focused on democratic development projects and conflict analysis in the former Soviet Union, most recently on the grantmaking team at the National Endowment for Democracy and as a research analyst at the Institute for the Study of War. Hugo holds a Master of International Affairs with a concentration in International Finance and Economic Policy from Columbia University and a B.A. in Russian Studies from Davidson College. 

Nelson Muoki Kilonzo finance and project management professional with nearly a decade of experience driving strategic initiatives across diverse projects. Nelson's proficiencies span financial modeling, capital project oversight, grants management, and implementing rigorous monitoring and evaluation systems to optimize program delivery. His passion lies in leveraging financial analysis and cross-functional collaboration to formulate sustainable business strategies and forge key partnerships that amplify organizational impact. Currently the Capital Projects Coordinator at CURE International.
With a background in telecommunications engineering, an MBA from Strathmore University, and a certified project management professional.

Faith Omoongeh, a CFA Charterholder with over 8 years of investment experience, currently serves as a Portfolio Manager at Sanlam Investments East Africa (SIEAL), East Africa's leading Asset manager with over USD 3.5 Billion in assets.
At Sanlam Investments, Faith is responsible for portfolio construction, investment monitoring, and client relationship management. She leads the Alternatives assets team driving the company's diversification efforts for their client base. Faith is also part of the fixed income asset class team. Prior to Sanlam Investments, Faith gained experience in brokerage and banking at Kingdom Securities Limited (KSL), and Co-operative Bank of Kenya. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and certifications from the CFA Institute and the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI).

James is an Investment Associate at Persistent, where he is working on the advisory mandate for the US$ 125 million Energy Entrepreneurs Growth Fund (EEGF), which is managed by Triple Jump and focuses on early and growth-stage companies in the access to energy ecosystem in Sub-Saharan Africa.

He has over seven years of experience in transaction advisory, project finance and corporate finance across sectors including Energy, Manufacturing, Retail, Logistics, and Real Estate. Prior to joining Persistent, he worked for Berkeley Energy, a renewable energy fund manager and developer focused on Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia emerging markets; E3 Capital, an early-stage fund focusing on climate transition and digital connectivity; and InVhestia Africa, a boutique project finance and corporate finance advisory firm.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Finance from the University of Nairobi and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder.

Cliff Mayaka is a seasoned investment consultant with over 7 years of experience in the financial and investment industry, primarily focusing on institutional investors, particularly pension schemes in East Africa.

Currently working at Zamara Financial Services, Cliff possesses a deep understanding of investment strategy development for investors and a strong grasp of investment principles. He excels at crafting and tailoring investment policy statements that maximize investor returns within defined risk tolerances. Additionally, he boasts expertise in performance measurement, attribution analysis, and investment monitoring.
Beyond his technical skills, he is known for building strong client relationships through his commitment to personalized service. A highly motivated and results-oriented professional, he has a proven track record of success.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Nairobi. Furthermore, he is a CFA charter holder with the CFA Institute and an Associate member of the Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (CIFA).

I am an investment professional with over six years’ experience in analyzing, investment and management of traditional and alternative assets. I have gained relevant experience in financial modeling, valuation of early stage to mature companies, debt and equity structuring, credit and market risk analysis, research, macroeconomic coverage, and portfolio management while working for a fund manager, startups and a scale-up. I have a bachelor’s degree in finance from USIU- Africa.

Currently working for a Pan African Energy as a Service Company that specializes in long-term financing for commercial and industrial power consumers to transition to renewable energy.

Luvuuma Robert manages tax compliance of Multinational Enterprises focusing on valuation of related party transactions such as licensing of intangible property, valuing the quantum and interest rate of debt, commodity transactions and business restructuring.
