Join us at this year’s Annual Regina Dinner focused on the Evolution of AI in Investment Management , with keynote speaker Bradley Betts, PhD, Head of AI Research from BlackRock. Brad will take us on a journey through the history of AI, exploring its evolution, and the various ways in which AI is transforming the investing landscape – including its applications in predictive analytics, risk management and alpha generation.

COSTA MARAGOS
Veteran Broadcast Journalist

Costa Maragos is a veteran broadcast journalist based in Regina. 

Many in Saskatchewan remember Costa from his years as host of CBC TV’s supper hour news from 1991 to 2013. Costa’s CBC career also included hosting assignments with CBC Radio across the country. 

His work has been recognized by his peers, having received four Gemini Award nominations and one Gemini Award for best newscast. The Gemini Awards (now the Canadian Screen Awards) recognize the finest in Canadian broadcasting. 

Following his CBC Career, Costa accepted a position as Spokesperson at the University of Regina. Costa is now back in the studio hosting an online interview program on Facebook Live - In Real Time with Costa Maragos.

JORDAN LI, CFA
Vice President | Canadian Institutional Business Team | BlackRock

Jordan Li, CFA, Vice President, is a member of the Canadian Institutional Business team within BlackRock's Americas Institutional Business (AIB) group. He is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with institutional investors including public and private pensions, foundations, and endowments across Canada.

Mr. Li joined BlackRock in July 2019 as part of the Graduate Analyst Program, after graduating from University of Toronto with a Bachelors Degree in Commerce, specializing in Finance and Economics. Mr. Li is a CFA charterholder.

BRADLEY J. BETTS, PhD,
Managing Director | BlackRock

Bradley Betts is a member of the Global Equity Research team within BlackRock's Systematic Active Equity group. He focuses on the use of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing for generating alpha.

Dr. Betts' service with the BlackRock dates back to 2008. Prior to joining BlackRock, Dr. Betts was a Scientist at Quantcast where he developed statistical models using large data sets for behavioral targeting of online advertising. Prior to that, he was a Principal Computer Scientist at NASA's Ames Research Center, a Lecturer and Research Scientist in the School of Medicine at Stanford University, and a Member of the Technical Staff at the MITRE Corporation.

Dr. Betts is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the American Mathematical Society (AMS), and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). He earned a BASc degree in computer engineering from the University of Waterloo in 1993, a MS degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University in 1995, and a PhD degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University in 1999.
